Immediately I wanted to know more about the other souls. I had to buy the book. I ordered 3 books so I could give a couple away, but couldn't wait to read it so I also downloaded the Kindle version. WOW! Great read, couldn't put it down, finished this morning. I just wanted to turn the page and keep reading! While reading the book I found myself taking sides and rooting for Roman. Team Roman! I can't wait to read the next one. #AllSoulsMatter3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.Light fantasy or deep philosophy - you decideBy Rebecca WhiteFunnily enough I read this book after following the facebook page because I loved all of their posts.This book while "teen fiction" genre was a thought provoking yet light read.The title "Animus" is a reference to Carl Jung psychology and the book loosely follows his beliefs in the many stages of human personality and identification. The concept of soul lives and the age of our souls/how many lives we have lived is a theory than many spiritual people (not necessarily religious) feel deeply about and the idea that we keep coming back until we have learnt all of our lessons from ego, to power, to enlightenment and understanding is something that I know I found very close to my own heart.This book was simply amazing and I would recommend it to anyone - you can make it as deep as you want it to be; treat it as a light fantasy read, or take the deeper philosophy that is on offer. I cannot wait for the next one x2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.the style better complimented the storyBy Phil FloresIt took me about 25 pages to get used to the writing style: one could argue that the author is over-descriptive, but as other reviews mentioned, this works out well for the sequences towards the end. Before I got used to it, it was almost as if she was trying too hard with painting the background. As it progressed, the style better complimented the story. Just stick with it if you notice this as well.Overall, the concepts, character development, how the characters inter-twine, all top-notch and creative! Being into spiritual principles while always seeking a logical reason behind them, the early story development really took off for me. The first 2/3 of the book had me captivated.Why this is not a 5-star review and where the momentum lost steam for me is towards the back 1/3. She has a great story to tell, but I felt that when it was committed to print, it was rushed. The varying action within different dimensions, wrapped in a creative (although new) set of spiritual concepts was too much to decipher at once. I think the story could have been more effective with slower pacing towards the end.This doesn't mean that I'm not looking forward to the rest of the series!!! I'm curious on how this turns out given the foundation that has been laid.See all 64 customer reviews...
