This text provides clear expositions of the different types of applications of the proc -- binomial, mutlinomial, ordered -- and provides clear explanations of how to interpret the output. My only complaint is that it does not seem to provide an explanation of what to do if the Pearson's and deviance chi-square statistics on model fit disagree. I bought the Kindle version so I could read it on the subway. It works quite well, but there do appear to be a few glitches where material was omitted.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.I abandoned SAS, but not this bookBy Noah GreenI recently switched from SAS to the Python data analysis stack (numpy/pandas/statsmodels) and am not looking back. However, that still doesn't stop me from continuing to find tremendous value in this book, which remains the most lucid and practical explanation of logistic regression I've come across. Mixing clearly explained math with useful anecdotal experience from practice, the author delivers value on every page. The sections on interpreting coefficients and dealing with convergence/separation issues alone are worth the price. Even though my logit code is now all in Python, I turn to this SAS book again and again for advice and clarification. This is a book that you will be glad to have in your library, not only for SAS but also for a fast statistical reference.The math in this book is very easy to understand. If you are looking for a detailed linear algebraic treatment of logistic regression, then this isn't the book for you. However, this is a book to purchase as a reference for rapid practical application of logistic regression modeling and diagnostics.
