When they consistently failed to do so, their parents decided to sell Pistachio. The two kids reacted by trying to sell their parents instead. They quickly learned that selling their parents wasn't as simple as they thought it would be. In the end, everything worked out okay, but not before the Clark family had a harrowing time with a wicked witch who was determined to eat them all.The story has an object lesson about children's responsibility for taking care of their pets. Simple duties like this are a way of developing responsibility in young children, and for teaching that failure to meet their responsibilities has consequences.Note: The author uses a few words that are from Commonwealth English and may not be familiar to American readers. What I loved the most with Dr Nicole Audet’s story ending is the absence of ready-made conclusions. There is no "mind wrap-up", just the natural flow of the tale. It gives you the whole liberty to think about it and open the discussion with your kids on what they just experienced. When the situation seems to be blocked, Nicole does know how to flip it over and make the characters appear in a totally different and positive way.
