It was wonderful. I want to know more about Sax and Zoe, Adele, etc. You feel like you've lost close members of your family. I love the way Kathy weaves in her little sermons that are appropriately place and so vital to the story. I'm a true believer and I always feel like I just heard a wonderful sermon. If we could all live that way in our lives. Her writing is thoughtful, well resourced and everything fits perfectly in the story plot. I just bought the first in the Sophie Trace trilogy. After reading this book, I think I messed up and should have read that trilogy first, however, I'll enjoy it anyway. Please finish #2 in the new trilogy. Can't remember what it is called. I think it was in the Ozarks. I read #1 and loved it. That introduced me to Kathy Herman and I'm a fan for life! Wonderful, exciting, suspenseful book with believable characters and a wonderful plot. I love different things going on simultaneously and she is a pro at that. Wonderful read!! I read False Pretenses, just finished this one and now I will read the third and final book, Relentless Persuit. I enjoyed the book, the characters, the plot, and the non-stop suspense. Definitely a page turner, and all three should be read in order. I could relate to the Cajun language and many of the Parishes mentioned, since I live in Louisiana. I enjoy reading Louisiana suspense and mysteries. The Cajun French Glossary and the Discussion Questions at the end of the book were very helpful, and very thoughtful of the author to include them.
